Lovely! It’s amazing how the black accent in the tiles, which looked completely out of place before, now looks like the perfect accent in the yellow bathroom! I love seeing people successfully build on what’s already there, and that yellow is perfectly cheery. The only thing is the framed piece that’s leaning on the back of the toilet; I wouldn’t have done that.

I like Rochelle’s version much, much better than the inspiration picture. Well done!

…and they frame on the top of the toilet is proving to be a pain, but because we have low ceilings, there isn’t room for all three prints to hang… I posted about how I did the prints (they were downloaded and printed for free) and what we will probably switch them out for (hopefully bfore the one on the toilet falls and breaks) at my own blog today (http://studiog.greayer.com)

WOW! Brilliant what a coat of paint, some new hardware, and accessories can really do. New room. Gorgeous!!!

oh– and the stool was a happy accident. I found it on ebay for 15$ and had planned to recover it but when it arrived I loved the fabric that was already on it more than my planned cover.

I’ve been looking for ages for a wallpaper just like the one in the magazine clipping – do you know where I could find it?

I have a leaning print in my bathroom, and I used some velcro hidden at the top part of it. It holds it against the wall yet removeable for cleaning the toilet, etc.

I’m so glad she kept the tiles and sink! They look great with the new wall color.

the wall paper is by farrow and ball – I forget the name of the pattern, but any wallpaper place that carries farrow and ball will have it. It is very pricey though…the per roll cost is in the high 100’s but F&B makes you order 6 rolls I think…so it wasn’t cost effective for my bathroom to pay nearly a thousand dollars and have 5 rolls of leftover wall paper.
The color that I used was custom…I took a sample of the wallpaper to my benjamin moore guy and he color matched it. I know they look different in the pictures, but that is purely a result of lighting and camera’s.

this is a great example of how to work with what you already have. Bravo, it looks excellent. i should never have painted my bathroom green – next time it will be happy yellow.

Oh how funny, I have the same exact three skeleton prints… but mine are old and taken from a book… found on eBay. Seeing this I am wondering if the seller just printed them out! But the paper looks old and the printing looks professional so hopefully I didn’t get scammed! =) They *were* cheap, so no great loss either way. I love your bathroom makeover!

Beautiful! It’s so refreshing to see someone do a bathroom (or kitchen) makeover where they’re willing to keep original fixtures and tile. I dislike the constant “out with the old and in with the new” mentality. Save fixtures and you maintain the vintage of the house. BRAVO!

thought you might want to know….this post lead to Better Homes and Gardens contacting me to do a photo shoot for theri magazine in the bathroom…The shoot was yesterday…so fun. I made a post about all the adveture today. Thanks for featuring the bath…will surely send more pics as I complete projects.
