canada, eh?: radiant dark


i was so bummed not to have more time to check out design shows in canada, and one of the great ones i missed was ‘radiant dark‘. thankfully one of my talented dinner buddies, karyn of the fantastic workroom shop/workshop space in toronto, covered some of the cool pieces at radiant dark. you can click here for her full coverage, but i’ve chosen by favorites above and below- i love the modern spin on a canadian classic above. i’ve really got to get back up there soon…

It’s great to see Canadian design getting some play here. Also, for those in or visiting Toronto, Karyn’s shop/workshop, The Workroom, is really awesome. A great resource for beautiful modern fabrics and lots of sewing know-how!

Undiscovered secret you say, I say Canada is right up there , home to some of the best design talents in the world. This show was amazing as was the Interior Design Show, the DIWhy ontario craft council show and and of course the Love and Rummage trunk show and sale at the Workroom. Karyn’s shop in wonderful.

because in the first hour i was in toronto i counted 7 people say it to me. and i’m not exaggerating. i found it charming and incredibly endearing- everyone was so friendly and sweet.
