before & after: chairloom chair

dscn1133
molly at chairloom is no newbie when it comes to reupholstering, but i still love to see her projects- and the incredible fabrics she uses. this chair upgrade comes courtesy of a gorgeous modern floral fabric from roberta roller rabbit (i love that name). it looks so clean and fresh. click here to check out (and buy) molly’s “afters” for sale at chairloom. thanks, molly!

I think this is one of my favourite before-and-afters ever. Not only is that a fabulous print, it suits the chair perfectly. Well done!

Wow, it looks absolutely stunning! I’m wanting to reupholster a chaise lounge, any good tips for someone who’s a total newbie??

YUM! I am a modernista and have a “victorianna” type client. This is where we can meet in the middle!

Awesome. My one caveat is that it looks hard to keep clean? But otherwise- phenomenal job!

This is absolutely amazing! I wish I had that skill – we have a family heirloom couch from Switzerland that my fiancee wants to get reupholstered…it would be amazing to have a result like this!

Hello!

I do love the new chair, because it has the same great lines… But what I would REALLY LOVE… is the old fabric, dirty and all! I hope she saved it for someone who is an ephemera artist (LIKE me hint hint) I am sure there are many who would covet it! …

Great makeover! Is it just me, or does the before chair look like it was upholstered with a mattress?! :)

Sometimes bold, modern fabrics look out of place on more classic shapes, but this works so well.

what FUN! I think you should make yourself a dress out of the same fabric, and have your portrait taken in that chair.

Molly bought the fabric from Roberta Roller Rabbit where I work and she is a SUPER talented upholsterer. I am going to have her do my old chairs :-)

Great job! Especially the matching of the fabric at the lower edge of the chair. I would have liked plain piping on this one.

Fresh take on a trad chair.
