Cherry Blossoms in Tokyo and LA- and For the Home

img_0051
Last spring I spent a week on Tokyo and Kyoto during cherry blossom season. My friend Karen and I took over 800 photos that week. Many of the images from our trip are filled with the beautiful pink flowers that were gorgeous to look at, but I must admit made me sneeze. My allergies wont stop me from going back to see them again this year.

Here in Los Angeles Linsday William-Ross from LAist took photos of the cherry blossom at Lake Balboa – Early Cherry Blossom Blooms at Lake Balboa -LAist

My nine-year-old daughter Sofia took this photo last week at one of our favorite restaurants in LA, Gonpachi.

So I got to thinking about adding some cherry blossom inspired decor to my house.

These Cherry Blossom Branch Lights from Graham and Green would be prefect in our living room.

Hopefully this L’OCCITANE Cherry Blossom scented candle won’t make me sneeze.

When I am in Japan I want to find a cherry blossom tablecloth or napkins. Then everyone will know I have gone cherry blossom crazy.

Portland, Oregon is filled with cherry blossoms during spring-they were planted in honor of Japan being our sister city. I cant wait til they all bloom-its so spectacular!

Love this inspiring post. The Cherry Blossom Festival in SF’s Japantown is coming up. I was just at Hakone Gardens in Saratoga also, and took tons of pictures of the cherry blossom trees.

The unfortunate thing about sakura is that its season lasts no more than a couple of weeks every year. But then again, perhaps that’s men cherish it for.

You can enhance the Japanese ambiance of your loft with Hokusai art prints. Keep in mind that Japanese like their decor clean, simple and hence elegant.
