icff 2009: lighting

dsc08646
this year the lighting at icff was really strong- and with a heavy accent on organic glass forms. some of my favorites are above and below- i hope you’ll enjoy. stay tuned for more from the stationery show, icff and a biz ladies post at 2:30 today.

john pomp’s booth blew my mind. john really outdid himself with a gorgeous new series of lighting that has moved right to the top of my “must own one day” list. i loved the domed lights above (top image) that mimic a foggy city-scape, and the hanging chandelier in a metal frame above (the frame is filled with hand-shaped glass bubbles). seriously, seriously gorgeous. Love the Caleb Siemon lights and the Ikea lights look cool, but also like something my son would have a blast playing with and ultimately destroying!

I love the Ikea one that looks like a dandelion blossom. Does anyone know what it is called?

I think I saw similar lights to the Ochre on eco-lights.com. There is so much unique and gorgeous lighting out there.

Meowsk, that lamp is part of IKEA’s PS line for 2009.

Speaking of which, Grace, was there any indication at the IKEA booth as to whether they plan to sell the PS collection in any US stores?

Wow John Pomp is freaking amazing!

anna

i’m not sure- i couldn’t find anyone to talk to at the booth- it was PACKED so i gave up waiting to talk to someone.

but i know the PS collection has been in stores here in NY before, but at my brooklyn store it’s always sold out, or wiped out.

I forgot to add that the “dandelion” lamp is called PS MASKROS:

That black branch lamp of Kenneth Cobonpue is actually made of little people holding hands if you look closely! How poetic!
