i couldn’t end the day without mentioning one more great designer that is part of the european design scene: one of my current favorites, jaime hayon for baccarat.

jaime has such a wonderful whimsical sense about his work and i’ll never forget stumbling upon his work at the milan show in 2007. it was like walking into an alternate universe where plants were made of porcelain and covered in gold dots and stripes. this year he debuted a seriously gorgeous (and seriously expensive) collection for baccarat called the ‘crystal candy set’. this limited edition 9-piece collection is all about jaime putting his signature spin on traditional baccarat glass. if only they would make these in tiny sizes so i could afford one. i wanted to take a bite out of them they were so cute- they really did look like candy (unfortunately that candy was lit poorly by the javits lighting so i used the press photography they gave us instead, sorry).
