before & after: tamera’s cart

cart3
d*s reader tamera sent in this fun cart makeover. she found this old cart on a curb outside and saw potential- so she took off the leather covering, spray painted it a semi-gloss white, and covered it with alexander henry’s ‘blakely‘ fabric, and covered it with a clear vinyl to make it waterproof. the whole project took only an hour and a half and has such a fun new look. great work, tamera!

LOVE it. It’s such a great cart. I wish I could find a similar piece.

I have a very similar typewriter table. I love that it’s on wheels. I use it as a side table. I’m tempted to spray it a color now…. =)

This might sound a little weird, but I kind of like how the before looks. The after definitely looks much cleaner though.

I have a couple typewriter tables too. Mine have the sides that fold up and down too. They do make great side tables. I roll it out onto the front porch in the summer and us it as a little drink cart. I see them all the time at antique stores/markets. They’re usually under $10. I scored mine for only $5!

This is so awesome and inspiring.
Where do you get clear vinyl? What kind did you use?

The before was much nicer. covering stuff up with tacky florals looks like thrift shop try hard. It will date very quickly.
