merkled pot rack

merkled
i’m going to file this under ‘things i’m not quite sure about’. there are parts of this merkled pot rack that i really love- namely the color and the way it seems to grow out of the wall organically (also that it’s made from salvaged steel loom ends collected from a weaving company 10 blocks from the merkled studio). but i think i’d prefer the rods to be less wavy, or perhaps more exaggerated in their wavy-ness. right now they’re reminding me of my crimped hair in middle school. but something’s still pulling me in about this. what do you think? keeper or no?

The first thing out of my mouth was, ooooooh. I too think it’s the color, but I really like the design. It’s kind of oceanic and makes me want to go on a vacation. :)

The first thing this reminded me of was coral, so while I can see how crimped-hair associations might taint it for someone else, it has a “whole new world” vibe for me. Which means I love it.

This is cool. I agree though that it needs to be less wavy, or more exaggerated. Hmm.. The color is nice, but I’d almost prefer something brighter [dare I say.. yellow?]

I love the hanging pot racks!

I’d forgive anything for that colour.

I like it. I assume it has the kinks in it so that you can hang a hook without it sliding. That way you can hang a ton of stuff from it. I love it. The color is not to shabby either.

This reminds me of the dried grape-vine wreathes a family friend made us long ago – perhaps if they looked even more organic (and not like crimped hair) it would be better? Almost like they are several different vines growing together. Love the color.

The crimps are in there because the material is salvaged, so it’s not like you could change them much. Personally I love them just the way they are because they’re unusual and not perfectly “designed”. I am in the market for a pot rack and this price is fantastic – my only worry is, how do I install this baby if the mounts don’t line up on a stud?

Also the colors – I adore them, but unfortunately they don’t work in my kitchen at all, which is more earth tones. I bet they’d do a custom colored powder coat though…..

Nope, I’m all about the waviness. I would love to have this over my sink area if it comes in white!

I like these pretty well! They don’t remind me of middle school at all…probably because I had a REALLY different junior high experience than most people. Ah well. =)

Keeper. Would be really striking focal point in a pared down kitchen.

Yeah, I like it too. It’s interesting how there are so many different associations with the same piece of scrap metal. To me it looks like dried Bangalow Palm fronds.

I sort of like it…but I think it’s how the end the “waves” that bother me…if it was tettered at the end of the main pipe, that would give it a crisp end and look finished. Practically, I bet it will be annoying to dust/clean. And yes, I love the color too!

Love it. I’d probably hang photos and art from it though. You could hang bath/beach towels on it too! The aqua is awesome.

I REALLY like this rack. It is so much more organic than anything you normally see. Love the color. I love it that is is not slick chrome or stainless steel with ugly forehead slamming eye gouging hooks.
