my comment is just completely sentimental and off-topic but my heart stopped as I scrolled through the images (look first, read second), rested on the photo of the Hyperkit print (supercool) and spotted the white enamel bowl decorated with mushrooms which my family had during my childhood (70s)! I LOVED that bowl and our Friday night ritual of TV popcorn which we ate out of that beloved bowl. I don’t think I’ve seen one since. WOW. I want to find one. I’m so sentimental!
Okay, now I promise to go back and read through your excellent, choc-full post.

Ha! I’ve got that Paper People book on my shelf, along with Paper Faces and Paper Play, also by Michael Grater. They may look quite dull inside, but Paper Faces inspired my boyfriend to make an awesome Minotaur mask for a costume party!
