before & after: christie’s table & jenn’s sconce

christiebefore1
today’s first before & afters from christie chase and jenn ski are all about bright paint and rethinking a piece of furniture that may have been previously overlooked. i love when someone chooses to rework a found piece of furniture or neglected object- it’s always such a great alternative to buying cheap replacement pieces or splurging on something brand new.

christieafter1
first up is christie (click here and here to check out her lovely homes) who recently completed a porch renovation for her friend nancy. to create a matching table for the porch, christie turned an old wooden vase into a cute coffee table/stool. christie cut two circles from plywood and attached them using screws and gorilla glue. a little spray paint and voila! cute new stool/table for the porch!

CLICK HERE for the jenn ski’s sconce makeover after the jump!

jenninspiration
inspired by these cheerful yellow sconces at vintage renaissance on etsy, artist jenn ski decided to redo an old sconce/plant holder her grandmother had given her. a little paint, a new home on the wall and now jenn has a bright new spot in her living room.

Oh…I just love the concept of repurposing! The yellow color of the new stools is fantastic. Sure to brighten up the porch!

Absolutely love the plant holder attached to the wall! I’m always looking for ways to decorate vertically since I have a home with small square footage. Thanks for the great idea!

I love both makeovers! It’s great to “shop” in your home.

How creative. I really need to start thinking more creatively when it comes to home decor and reuse.

These are all genius ideas! I’m trying to decorate an apartment on the VEEEEERY cheap, and things like these are exactly what I need.
