Anniversaries: Paper

ds_1_1
Hello! We are Erin and Nicole from Bird and Banner, a design studio in Philadelphia which specializes in custom invitations. We recently started our own blog and are thrilled to be here guest blogging on d*s all this week.

We will be posting about ideas for anniversaries following the traditional wedding gift-giving list. Starting with year one — paper. As invitation designers paper is of course extra dear to our hearts, and the best part is that meaningful gifts can come from the most modest of materials.

This woven paper heart was Erin’s first anniversary gift to her husband. It’s made out of her leftover wedding invitations.

WOW! Bird and Banner has great ideas for first anniversary gifts. My first year of marriage just passed and I wish I had been this creative. LOVE the book plate idea!

Thank you, Erin and Nicole! It’s about time someone took on the topic of anniversaries. My sisters and brother and I are throwing our mom and dad a 50th wedding anniversary party in December. I’d love to hear any tips that you have in your guest blog here at d*s?

Nicole and Erin are the best- I was lucky enough to work with them for my wedding invitations this past May, and their work is always amazing. I love seeing them both here on d*s! (Here’s to dovetailing worlds!) And can’t wait to crib ideas for future anniversary gifts!

Amazing ideas! The beauty of paper is so overlooked. The thumbprints – so clever. Love the design on the bookplate – so beautiful I’d have one poster sized and framed!
