henrique oliveira

Picture 20
artist henrique oliveira has made a few small blog runs already but his work is too incredible to pass up, especially on before & after day when we celebrate the idea of turning something old into something new and beautiful. henrique reuses old and peeling wood and turns them into these incredible curving, undulating installations. i am dying to see these in person, but in the meantime, i can’t think of a prettier piece of eye-candy for thursday morning. via mandr.

Passion is the word that comes to mind when I look at his work. No bland or tranquil feeling is present. I love the strong, eruptive, and graceful forms. And plus the scale of his art is overwhelming!

Incredibly beautiful – like a marbled paper explosion into 3 dimensions. I want a dwelling covered in this. In the middle of a field in the San Juan Islands maybe…

Every once in a while you come across artists that work in the realm of the Epic. Oliveira is one of those artists. Mind blowing. I think I need to get back into the studio now.
