before & after: lindsay’s bedroom + janae’s chair

lindsaybefore
this bedroom transformation comes from lindsay of aubrey and & lindsay. not only did lindsay and her helpers tear down a wall, but they turned two separate rooms into one lovely master bedroom with a clean, fresh look. i’m a sucker for a studded upholstered headboard, so i really appreciate the bright new look. click here to read more about the makeover process right here. thanks for sharing, lindsay!

[have a before & after you'd like to share on d*s? just shoot me an email right here with your images!]

today’s final before & after comes from janae. after finding a rusty chair in the craigslist free section, janae decided to clean the frame, remove the rust, and repaint the chair to be a glossy black color. the cushions were recovered in a black and white houndstooth and then the transformation was complete! great work, janae!

What a peaceful, simple room. I love the neutrals, the fabulous headboard and platform, the unexpected light fixture and the classy bedside tables. Nicely done!

Hi Sarah

It’s actually a plain ikea dresser that has been hacked. DesignSponge featured a smiliar hack a while back with some good step by step instructions:

Enjoy!

Hi everyone! Thank you for your kind comments about our bedroom re-do.

The Ikea side tables we did in 2008 which we documented once again in our home blog:
http://aubreyandlindsay.blogspot.com/2009/09/side-table-project.html

The ceiling light in our bedroom is Jonathan Adlers Meurice Pendant.

We put (I think all) sources in our Before + After makeover source list here:

Thank you so much!

I was going back and forth a Laura Ashley bird wrought iron chandelier or a Made-in-China copy in Zia Priven style….seeing this, I’m sold on the copy.
This is just what I want for my room!

Wow! What a great transformation! I love the white, and I can’t believe those are Ikea tables. Mind if I borrow that idea?

aubreyandlindsay bedroom makeover shows that white can have as much punch as any color.

Very nice job! I am doing renovation myself once in a while, but this one is very impressive, especially considering huge difference between “before” and “after”.

Major improvement from the ugly dark blue walls but where is the COLOR in the after? So sterile white!!! Guess I’m just not a white/beige person :)

Love the bed frame!
