before & after: rachel’s table + bethany’s displays

bethanybefore
today’s next before & after comes from bethany in alberta canada. after watching the bell jar trend online, bethany decided to try to create the look in her own home. unable to find jars in her town for a reasonable price ($450, yikes!) she decided to make her own by converting these clocks she found in a thrift store. a little paint and a few hours later, she had her own custom bell jars. well done, bethany!

[have a before & after you'd like to share on d*s? just shoot me an email right here with your images!]

rachelbefore
rachel of vintage songbird sent over this great transformation. rachel decided to convert a nightstand into a play kitchen for her daughter, which such sweet results. thanks for sharing, rachel!

What little girl – or boy for that matter – wouldn’t want to play in this little kitchen!? So sweet! Definitely check out the additional pics on Flickr – the oven, chalkboard and hanging utensils – what a fantastic gift for her daughter!

That kitchen is so sweet! Love the little curtain. Anyone else interested in a play kitchen might want to check out Ohdeedoh, they have a crazy collection of DIY play kitchens! We were inspired last year from the Ohdeedoh posts and made a kitchen for our kiddos out of an old tv stand. Its still one of their fav toys. You can see our kitchen here:

the kitchen is seriously amazing – not only are kid kitchens expensive, but they’re not too easy on the eye (unless you like a lot of multicolored plastic). well done!

way too precious play kitchen! it doesn’t even look like it could have been made from that clunky nightstand. I have a similar piece of funiture, although mine has deep engravings of family initials, which I keep around for nostalgia’s sake. great makeover.

Love the bell jars! I have one of those clocks that I got for my wedding and it just wasn’t our style… so it’s been in the garage for the last 4 years… but I know what I’m going to do with it now!…
