food paintings by janet hill

i really can’t get enough of food based artwork (and vice versa). beautiful paintings + images of delicious food- what’s not to love? these paintings from janet hill caught my eye the other day and they’ve made me hungry for cake ever since. just like my favorite painter, wayne thiebaud, janet has a way of turning cakes into something as delightful to look at as they are to eat. based in ontario, janet sells her artwork on etsy in print form for prices ranging from around $17-$55. click here to check out her full collection. be prepared to make a trip to the bakery (or your kitchen) afterward. thanks, sian for the tip!

These are beautiful! And I absolutely love Wayne Thiebaud. I want to learn how to paint mainly so I can knock off his work.

wouldn’t it be great to have your wedding reception table painted for posterity by one of the fabulously talented artists?

She also does great interiors and fashion paintings. I have a print of one of her oil paintings of high heels and I love it.

So sweet! Too bad there are no “food-based” paintings on her Etsy shop…

I love, love, love those outdoor party paintings. I had to post them too. Thanks for the tip! (and I’m already collecting old chairs to paint so I can make a party like this for my little nugget’s 4th birthday).
