hammerpress‘ booth was jam-packed with great new designs. i know i’ll be adding a few of these to my card collection for this year. i especially loved their mother’s day cards, perforated gift tags and invites.

today is the last day of stationery show coverage on d*s, so i wanted to start the day with these new designs from egg press, smock and austin press. i just can’t get enough of any of these designers so i’m excited to share their latest designs…

every year i get excited to see what egg press will debut and this year it was a great new series of cards and a beautiful calendar. i couldn’t part with my 2008 egg press calendar and still keep the small sheets tucked in my desk drawer.

i loved this hand-illustration card from kim at austin press- and just about everything else at her booth.

smock’s stationery is always the perfect combination of sweet and sophisticated.

icff 2009: the final eleven…

my icff image folder is officially empty and this will be my final post on this year’s show. so here are the last eleven booths/designers that caught my eye. be sure to click “read more” at the end of the post for the full selection of images after the jump. up next- before & afters!

beautiful woven rugs from brooklyn’s amy helfand.

i love the textured textiles at anne kyyrö quinn’s booth.

duduc branched out this year to include a beautiful new line of furniture called mason gray- designed to be their modern take on traditional furniture- with an accent on interesting finishes.

a seriously multi-use table from stilvoll.

i love the simple, clean, rounded lines on the furniture (made from reclaimed lumber) at moe’s booth.

walnut and marble coat rack from matt carr, for U+/umbra.

nss 2009: dutch door, maginating, and more…

one of my favorite new designers at the national stationery show was sung yoo of paper medium. i loved sung yoo’s drawing style and the loose, effortless quality of her lines.

one of my favorite new finds at this year’s show was the maginating booth. owner and founder brad woods debuted a playful collection of stationery that benefited strongly from brad’s background in animation- each illustration had the sense of playful, friendly motion that you expect from animated characters. can’t wait to see what brad does next…

icff 2009: risd + pratt

the student design booths at any design show are almost always my favorite. and this year the students from risd and pratt really outdid themselves. [image above: 'perch' by andrew mau of risd]

loofah ankle boot by ian horowitz of risd. i wanted to try these on so badly…

’split seat’ by isao takezawa of risd, made from vegetable tanned leather.

pratt’s ‘design for a dollar’ booth was incredibly inspiring. the students came up with the theme and tried to create products with materials that cost around $1. i loved the ‘metamorphosis’ egg crate lamp above, by sukmo koo and young taek oh.

’scissors’ by brian persico, laser cut from discarded saw blades.

the ilee paper goods booth at the stationery show is always full of cheerful, colorful stationery. this year i was crazy about their letterpressed calendars and sweet children’s invites. click here for more of their work on etsy.

adorable notebooks from shelley at albertine press. also adorable? her brand new baby girl, sadie, who made an appearance at the booth.

rich, saturated colors at the pie bird press booth.

diva at linea carta debuted some beautiful new textiles and her wall calendars were simply divine.

icff 2009: adler, ochre, and much more

my icff image folder is practically empty so it looks like today will my the last day for icff coverage on d*s. stay tuned for my favorite part- the student design booths- next. but first, here are some more great designs from the 2009 show. [image above: 'dodecahedron light' by woka, vienna]

i loved this ’sola’ desk/chair by talitha james. oh to be the student who gets to sit in this every day- so chic.

a gorgeous wooden ‘phenomena screen’ by sang hoon kim.

soft faceted block stools, called “above”, by bERT&dENNIS.

this wooden bench was so simple, but so striking in person. i loved the combination of smooth, clean cortes blanco wood and powder coated steel. the ‘clavijas’ collection was inspired by wrought iron nails found in a blacksmith’s shop and was designed by KIU.

a selection of drawer pulls from ochre. i’d love to use the dark handles on bright white kitchen drawers.

chic leather furniture from ochre. i loved the scalloped edge on the white leather bench.

jonathan adler added a wonderful series of casegoods and upholstered furniture to his collection, all with his trademark groovy style.
