section: weekly wrap up

tart1
i can’t think of a better way to wrap up the week- and our food day- at d*s than with this beautiful new typographical dessert cookbook from amanda woodward at woodward design. based in edmonton, amanda and her team created a limited edition typographical dessert cookbook that will be printed at the end of this month. there are eight recipes inside, each one with a fun typographical spin (the fonts are listed and sourced as well). you can pick up a copy right here at etsy for $20. thanks, amanda!

whew! this week has been crazy and on monday i’m finally able to finish the bulk of my work on the d*s book and turn in the manuscript! things are coming together so nicely i can’t wait to show you the final result. until then, i wanted to leave you with another peek from one of the new homes from the book. this incredible bathroom belongs to a former domino magazine editor and the rest of her home is just as gorgeous. until monday- have a great weekend! below is a summary of this week’s highlights:

i’m in the home stretch of my d*s book manuscript writing so i’m going to head back to work now- but i wanted to leave you with another little peek into its pages. this detail shot belongs to one of our editor’s amazing homes. when you see the full shot of this room you’re going to flip- it is the most gorgeous peach color ever. along with this home, all of the other d*s editor homes will be featured in the book, so stay tuned- it’s shaping up so nicely! until monday, i hope you all have a wonderful weekend. below is a summary of this week’s highlights.

today i’m out and about shuttling gorgeous flower arrangements between saipua and photographer sabra krock’s studio in manhattan. since my brain is officially fried i figured i’d wrap up the week with a little preview of what’s to come in the d*s book- sarah is doing some gorgeous florals that will tie into another section of the book and this is one of my favorites so far. more previews to come when we finish the manuscript, but i wanted to wrap up the week with sarah and sabra’s beautiful work. until monday, have a fantastic weekend!

ps: stay tuned for a new free d*s desktop wallpaper on monday from camilla engman!

i’m a big fan of kari herer’s photography. i love the way she combines illustration with still life and turns it into a breathtaking photograph. so i was thrilled to hear from her about her latest collection- a series that combines fresh flowers with bird illustrations.

when it comes to gorgeous florals, i’m pretty much a “what’s not to love?” sort of girl, so these were right up my alley. and thankfully kari’s prints are available for a very affordable $25 right here at her etsy shop. thanks to kari for passing them along. i’m off to do some more book work (we’re still looking for a few extra new homes and before & afters- email me here if you have any you’d like featured!) so until monday, i hope you all have a wonderful weekend! below is a summary of this week’s posts:

whew! it’s been a long week and i’m feeling a major sense of TGIF today. before i head off i wanted to wrap up this week with these paper chandeliers from designer lena corwin. inspired by the traditional polish paper chandeliers that are popping up around the web these days, lena’s versions will be for sale ($35-$65) at the brooklyn flea design co-op next weekend, and every saturday after that from 10-6 (this week’s fair was canceled due to rain). the design co-op will feature work from lotta jansdotter, wayne pate, wren handmade, and more. if you’re in town, be sure to check out lena’s new work and everyone else’s at the flea. until monday, i hope you all have a great weekend! below is a summary of this week’s highlights:

*ps: we’re still looking for some fantastic before & afters for the d*s book. we’d love to see any projects that will be finished by the end of the month- just shoot me an email right here with your images!*

i’m heading out early to meet with sarah about her portion of the d*s book and check out a mirror i’ve been eying at erie basin for a while. i wanted to end with these gorgeous handmade ceramics from asya palatova of gleena. aran included her as part of her “kitchen favs” roundup and i couldn’t resist sharing her gorgeous work here again. click here for more info on asya’s beautiful work. stay tuned for a new diy video next week- until then, i hope you all have a great weekend. see you monday! images above and below by aran goyoaga.
