section: windows and walls good morning! after a weekend in the catskills i’m rested and ready to work- we have a great series of sneak peeks and posts lined up for today, but before we get started i wanted to share these beautiful new wallpaper designs from jocelyn warner. blossom, cascade and fern (each available in 5 colorways) are a new spin on jocelyn’s “larger than life” botanical themes. i spent all weekend obsessing over ferns (and being surrounded by them) so i’m really digging the subtle fern print. the full collection will be launched at 100% design in london this september, but in the meantime you can click here to view more of jocelyn’s work.

i’m also thrilled to welcome the lovely and talented meg mateo ilasco back to the d*s guest blog this week. click here to check out meg’s new post on lightbulbs…

July 23rd, 2009 - 08:00am good morning! after yesterdays monster biz ladies posts my fingers are just about kaput. but thankfully they’ve got enough juice to get up some morning eye candy and some great diy projects today. up first is artist laura pregger from switzerland.
laura’s porcelain work focuses on using second-hand designs from manufacturers like fürstenberg, and re-purposing them into something new and unexpected. i love the way she plays with a combination of opaque and sheer looks in her work, but you can check out the full collection right here. thanks, laura!
next up- the perfectbound girls have a gorgeous post on turning paper and other flat objects into wallpaper up on the d*s guest blog today. click here to check it out!
July 22nd, 2009 - 08:00am swoon: a little wednesday morning eye candy, courtesy of the lovely cathy kidston. cath is now selling gorgeous wallpaper, including 10 vintage designs like these fantastic floral patterns. oh to have a bathroom covered in that top left print- like walking through a colorful english garden. click here for more info [via living etc]

from english gardens to fairy tale heroines, today’s guest post from rei jin is my favorite so far. today she’s styling a modern day little red riding hood and i’m dying to slip into half of the things she’s chosen for this cloaked character. click here to check out her updated fair tale selections…

July 15th, 2009 - 08:30am when it comes to deanne cheuk, there is no way to put it other than: this. girl. rules. deanne is a ny based art director, illustrator and artist (originally from perth, australia) that has consistently blown my mind with her work since 2004, when she was one of the first people i wrote about on design*sponge.
so i was thrilled to hear from her this week about a beautiful new website she launched showcasing her work over the years. i first heard of deanne when she was working at tokion and have been following her design work every since- her new site has a great selection of collage work, t-shirts, magazine layouts, lettering- all sorts of incredible artwork that is more than enough for a quick jolt of friday morning creativity. click here to check it out….
CLICK HERE for more images of deanne’s work and a preview of abigail’s neisha crosland post on the d*s guest blog! read more … July 10th, 2009 - 08:05am i first saw trove’s nature-inspired work at the 2006 icff and was instantly smitten with their colorful, but sophisticated, wallpapers. so i wasn’t surprised to find that i also love their latest collection of window films and wood veneer.
trove’s new window film is a self-adhesive design that comes in three different textures, for varying degrees of opacity (and privacy). i love with their butterfly print (above) and am hoping to convince ac to let me use it in our bathroom. on a different note, i would like to know where that room above is and when i can move in.
trove also recently introduced a new line of printed wood veneer wallcoverings, made from renewable materials. they have that warm glow that comes from wood feel, but without the obvious wood-grain effect that you often get with veneer. so lovely.
click here to check out both of trove’s new additions online and to contact them about purchasing… June 16th, 2009 - 09:00am |
